Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the future will show brain structures automatically in PACS.

The use of Synthetic MRI now includes functionality to estimate the volume of the brain and its compartments based on a 5 minutes MRI scan. It comprises the volume of white matter, grey matter, cerebrospinal fluid, remaining deviating tissue, brain parenchymal volume and intracranial volume. The accuracy is typically in the order of 2-4 ml.
